7/2/2014 4:40:39 PM EST – This is David Gardner with the Town of Provincetown with an update on the July 4th parade and Fireworks celebration.

Current tracking forecasts Tropical Storm Arthur well offshore, however the “cone of error” still includes the Outer Cape so we will continue to monitor over time. Although any storm impacts to Provincetown at this time appear to be minimal, rain is anticipated on Friday July 4th and therefore the fireworks celebration has been postponed to Saturday, July 5, 2014 at its regular time of 9pm. The weather is expected to clear up early Saturday and be ideal for fireworks viewing.

The July 4th parade scheduled for Friday at 11:00 am has been cancelled.
