Speaking of Art with Thirsty Burlington
By M Sebastian Araujo
I met Thirsty years ago when he was camping out on a chums sofa…he dazzled me in just a pair of faded jeans and a t-shirt.
Over the years I have seen him blossom into the amazing STAR he is today. I for one am thrilled and so glad for this talented chap who dares to be different from the rest and yet somehow remain himself.
When did You realize you were a STAR?
Well I don’t think I’m a star. Julia Roberts is a Star, Brat Pit is and so on I’m Just a Silly Guy that loved to sing and crack jokes. I wanna help my audience forget there problems for the hour…and laugh (usually at me)!

When you were a young chap did you feel different from other kids?
Well when I was growing up in the Cambridge Projects, the kids were poor, with no fathers. In a way we were all in the same boat; I do remember having a Huge crush on my mail kindergarten teacher.
He was So Hot! So I knew something was different.
Of all the many characters I have seen you portray…why has Cher been the one you seem to be known for?
Well I think we are to peas in a pod,we “Cher”..the same birthday (may 20th) She may be a minute older than me, were both dyslexic..the Thin build, dark hair. Cher has this tough swagger I always found attractive..it was just a good fit I guess.
What is it like to see your life portrayed on Film?
Its Very Crazy-Strange…I’ve been pretending it’s not my life, it’s been emotional. Rehashing childhood memories (but that’s true for all of us I think)..Yet so cool to see photographs of my past come to life, so it was wonderful too..its such a Powerful Film.
What do you hope people will take away with them after seeing your story?
Well it was like three years of therapy for me.I know I came out stronger because of it-I hope this film helps kids in any situation..keep on keep in on Life gets better and your dreams can come true.
What is it about Ptown that keeps you and so many other creative people living there?
The Light..,
The Beach…
the sense of belonging.
The kooky people
We live in the land of misfit toys.
I am one of them…
We all get each other, Ya Know?
