The Mews Restaurant and Cafe, established as an eating and drinking society 50 years ago and now one of New England’s most popular gathering spots, is celebrating this milestone with a year of distinctive events, new and retro menu items, original drinks, giveaways, and special guest appearances. The Mews offers casual and fine dining on two levels, and is known for attracting celebrities as well as being the locals’ favorite. Set on the beach with views of the harbor and the shores of the Outer Cape, The Mews is surrounded by art galleries and just steps from the Provincetown Art Association and Museum on Commercial Street.

As General Manager and co-owner of The Mews, television and radio personality Ron Robin has planned a year of events that will highlight many of the culinary and entertaining triumphs of the last five decades.

On Tuesday, February 25, The Mews will celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ first appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show with a special menu (including an Octopus’s Garden appetizer and Strawberry Fields dessert), themed entertainment and giveaways including Sargent Pepper Mills and salon gift certificates good toward Beatles hairdos (or don’ts).

Now in its 23rd year, Coffeehouse @ The Mews, an open mic for writers, playwrights, poets, singers, songwriters, comedians, etc., is held Mondays at 8pm through May 12. Often standing-room-only affairs, those in the know will grab a table for dinner with a view of the stage. A $3 donation is suggested for community organizations including Community Radio WOMR and the Provincetown Theatre which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its new home on Bradford Street.
