Letter from Chilly Provincetown
By M.Sebastian Araujo
” From my window as I write, I can look out across the broad front lawns of our farm.
Like a lovely picture postcard of wintery New England. In my fireplace the good cedar logs are burning and crackling.
Just stopped to go into my gleeming kitchen to test the crumbly goodness of the toasted veal cutlets in my oven…”
WAIT a tick! I am not Barbara Stanwyck and this is NOT “Christmas in Connecticut” (which happens to be my favorite Black and White Holiday Flick!

Now back to my tale….
Provincetown is a very special place each season of the year…for me,winter is my favorite time of the year!
Long walks in the Winter wonderland of Beech Forrest, located about a mile from the town center and amazingly peaceful .Bike and hiking trails might tempyou to linger amid the dense and magical trees. Maybe you’ll see a fairy or two romping amid the the windswept dunes. Even Santa sightings have often been reported…
Once back in town, why not stop by the “Wired Puppy” http://www.wiredpuppy.com/ to have a cup of something deliciously warming, chat with the locals who always seem to be here enjoying the company and the coffee or tea . Hungry for more that just coffee or tea try “Napi’s Restura” http://www.napis-restaurant.com/ or “Fannizzi’s” http://www.fanizzisrestaurant.com/. Great Service,Great Food and Great Prices!

Did I mention Art?
For nearly a deacade now I have been living in Provincetown.Seasons come and go, each one brining a unique flavor and adding something to the tapestry of my life. It is this time of year, when many of the lights have dimmed, windows are boarded over and garden plants are covered up!
Many seem to have flown the coop for warmer climates and I get to see the bones and sinews of this place I love so much. The cleansing time of year when the soul of Provincetown gets to nest , rest and replenish itself for the year that will come on January 1.Its the time of year that we who live here, a love the most! Chilly it may be,but when you ask us ,there is no else we would rather be on earth.
Happy Holidays to you all ,where ever you roam ,remember as Dorothy said…”There is no place like Home”
And often I wonder is she meant Ptown in the Winter or all through the year. Stay Warm, Be Kind to Each Other and Spread Peace throughtout the Earth.
Sebastian
